Song of the deep is a beautifully crafted game in every way.
DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!
I can’t tell you enough how enjoyable everything was about this game from music to her basic movement, it is near perfection in what Insomniac sets out to do.
Song of the Deep takes you on an amazing journey under the deep sea. You play as a young girl named Merryn on her quest to find her father. The game has a narrative and pleasant tone that will draw you in and immerse you from start to finish. You will be an instant fan when you play Song of the Deep.
LEARN TO SWIM
Along the way, you will gain abilities and ship upgrades to help you better prepare yourself along your journey. The controls are simple, right stick aims and the left sticks moves. With some games, this can be frustrating but this one got it right. The upgrades include the usual things like Health, Armor, Speed and some unique ones as well. I found myself easily steering and playing the game. Puzzles and paths, on the other hand, can really burst your bubble of frustration at times. Even though it was hard, it was a welcome challenge.
when your ship comes in
I have to say that music is an important factor to me personally and this games soundtrack has become one of my favorites already. The peaceful yet exploring tone make you relax and let your mind wander as you play the game. It meshes perfectly with this game.
I was also surprised how much I would like this game as I do not consider myself a particular fan of underwater games or levels but it has become my favorite of all.
I have to say the projects inspiration fills my heart as well
A passion project inspired by the daughter of Insomniac Games Chief Creative Officer Brian Hastings, Song of the Deep has a simple and compelling message: no matter who you are, you have the ability to overcome adversity when you don’t give up.
